Privacy
SwimWiki is a public swimming reference. It does not require a public account and does not sell personal information.
- When you save a workout, the server derives a one-way hash from your IP address and browser user-agent. The hash is stored with the save so the site can recognize it and limit abusive requests. SwimWiki does not store the underlying IP address or user-agent in the workout-save record.
- The hosting platform may process ordinary request information, including IP address, user-agent, requested page, and request time, to deliver and secure the site.
- Search terms are sent to the server to return results. SwimWiki does not currently use them for advertising profiles.
Browser storage
Pace charts and time-converter entries use local storage on your device. The sidebar state uses a first-party preference cookie. These items can be removed through the relevant feature or by clearing site data in your browser.
Sharing and external services
SwimWiki does not currently run advertising or marketing analytics in its application code. Links to YouTube and other source sites open those services directly; their own policies apply once you visit them. Infrastructure providers may process limited technical data as needed to host the application and database.
Public swimming data
The archive contains publicly reported competition information such as swimmer names, affiliations, results, splits, and meet history. SwimWiki is not affiliated with World Aquatics, the International Olympic Committee, the NCAA, USA Swimming, meet operators, broadcasters, or equipment brands.
Results and records
Competition facts, including names, events, placements, times, splits, dates, and affiliations, are normalized into SwimWiki's own data model and presentation. Source links and provenance are retained where practical. A source citation does not imply endorsement or ownership by that source.
Original files
Meet files are preserved to document published results and support verification. Copyright and other rights in an original PDF, HTML report, photograph, graphic, or similar work remain with its respective owner. SwimWiki may replace a hosted file with a source link or remove it when appropriate.
Race footage
SwimWiki does not claim ownership of third-party footage. Race footage is generally linked to its external host rather than reproduced. Rights holders may request review or removal.
Corrections
Submit the affected page, disputed field, proposed correction, and a reliable supporting source through the SwimWiki repository. Corrections are evaluated against the underlying result or governing-body publication, not merely another aggregator.
Rights requests
A request should identify the requester and rights holder, the exact SwimWiki URL, the work at issue, the basis for the request, and a way to respond privately. Do not publish sensitive contact details in a GitHub issue; use the issue only to request private contact while a dedicated address is being established.
SwimWiki will review sufficiently specific requests and may remove or restrict material while a claim is evaluated. This is a general rights-contact process, not a representation that SwimWiki has registered a DMCA designated agent.
Names and marks
Event, organization, team, and competition names are used to identify historical facts. Logos and protected marks are not intended to suggest sponsorship or an official relationship.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly request personal information from them.
Changes and questions
This page will be updated when SwimWiki adds accounts, submissions, analytics, advertising, or materially different data practices. Until a private support address is published, contact the maintainer through the SwimWiki repository. Do not include sensitive personal information in a public issue.
